Client Manager & Strategic Projects

Swell Creative Group is a strategic digital and creative agency that specializes in mobilizing communities online for causes, candidates and brands. We develop creative online campaigns that get people excited, sharing, and activated to create real and lasting change. We are not a typical communications agency – we use campaign tactics across our clients, whether ballot measure campaigns, candidate races or documentary film awareness-building.We are seeking a Client Manager who will lead the strategy and management of our online campaigns. This is a strategic and tactical position.

Project Management

  • Participate in the management of relationships with clients at all levels, maintaining and ensuring the high-quality of our work.

  • Provide strategic advice and calendar planning for clients, helping to capitalize on key events, organizational milestones and breaking stories.
  • Maintain detailed timelines, project plans, and hours budgeted for all project deliverables and key milestones.

  • Manage and direct vendors engaged on Swell projects.
  • Maintain detailed timelines, project plans, and hours budgeted for all project deliverables and key milestones.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects, including communication of client needs to team.
  • Lead project status meetings and updates with internal team and clients.
  • Work with clients and staff to write and revise email, social media, SMS, and blog copy to achieve campaign goals.
  • Test, segment and report on email, social and website performance.
  • Manage the development of new client and campaign websites as needed.

Strategy Development

  • Translate high-level concepts and creative briefs into finished creative and website, email and social content.
  • Construct, articulate and execute digital communications strategy.
  • Contribute ideas to projects and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Identify opportunities and areas for improvement.

Administrative

  • Attend, document, and generate action items emerging from client and team meetings.
  • Draft client-facing proposals and memoranda, presentations, strategic plans, and other internal or client-facing materials.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and archived appropriately.

General Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to develop and execute excellent work, and ensure we are accomplishing our clients’ goals.
  • Contribute to campaign development with creative ideas and tactics.
  • Participate in internal and client-facing creative briefings, brainstorm sessions, status 
meetings, and post-project assessments.
  • Provide status updates on all projects to ensure team coordination and timely delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities in
the context of agency and client expectations.
  • Participate in QA process on deliverables from the team.
  • Keep tabs on the latest digital trends and incorporate new tactics, tools, and platforms into client campaigns as needed.
  • Conduct research and analysis as needed for clients.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in a relevant field (such as digital strategy, political campaign planning or organizing, direct marketing, communications strategy, online fundraising).
  • Experience leading a variety of projects, from the resourceful and no budget to the months-long and in-depth.
  • Client-facing experience and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in contemporary digital marketing and engagement programs.
  • Self-starter, driven, focused, eager.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Conduct research and analysis as needed for clients.
